Whether you’re taking part in our Heart Strong 28-Day Reboot or simply looking for some nutrition guidance, it’s important to remember that nutrition is never a one-size-fits-all approach.Everyone’s body, goals, and lifestyle are different, and that’s exactly why we focus on sustainable, realistic changes that fit you.
Our Head of Nutrition, Kylie White, has created a range of valuable resources inside the ReDefined App to help guide and support you. For those doing our 28 Day Heart Strong Reboot, You will find Kylie's 'Cardio Metabolic Health Guide" in the OnDemand/blog section of the app.
Let’s break down some options for how you can approach your nutrition:
Option #1. Start with Sustainable Changes
Begin with small, achievable shifts rather than trying to overhaul everything at once. Inside the app, you’ll find video guides and nutrition overviews from Kylie, designed to help you take those first steps confidently.
Pair these with our Universal Wellbeing Philosophy, eat real, whole foods, understand your energy balance, prioritise protein, and aim for consistency, not perfection. The key is to make changes at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Option #2. Understand Your Energy Balance & Macros
Getting a grasp of your energy balance (calories in vs. out) and macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, and fats) is a great foundation. You’ll find a detailed guide in the app (set your macros and track guide) but here’s a quick summary to get started:
Download the Evolt Active App (most of you already have it).
Update your nutrition goal based on your preferences to work out your energy balance and macros
Use Easy Diet Diary or MyFitnessPal to track your food intake.
Pro Tip:
Focus on hitting your protein target daily, and then fill the rest of your diet with a healthy balance of carbs and fats.
Aim to balance your calories over the week, it’s okay to have a little more one day and less another, as long as it evens out across seven days.
Tracking isn’t something you need to do forever, it’s simply a short-term learning tool. Try it for a week or two, make adjustments, and then focus on staying consistent.
Option #3. Follow a Guided Meal Plan
If you’re ready to take things up a notch, Kylie has created several custom meal plans within the app, along with over 80 delicious recipes to choose from. These plans take the guesswork out of eating well and help you stay on track without overcomplicating things.
Option #4. Need Personal Support?
If you’re feeling unsure or struggling to find what works for you, you’re not alone. You can book a one-on-one session with Kylie or reach out directly with your questions at kylie@redefined.nz.
Final Thought
Nutrition is about progress, not perfection.Start small, be consistent, and keep learning , your energy, mood, and performance will all thank you for it.
You’ve got all the tools you need inside the ReDefined App, and Kylie’s here to help you make the most of them!
