Embracing Challenges - By Emma and Jlo

Every one of us faces our own challenges, so embrace them daily, be resilient, and reap the benefits of REACHING YOUR POTENTIAL!

This link here https://www.redefined.nz/about will take you through to the biggest tool you can use this year to help identify YOUR challenges. Our Universal Wellbeing diagram provides you with a great starting point to find "WHERE" you are out of alignment with your values and your mission- and hey it's even a great conversational piece with your family once a week

Tip for 2022: Move to an IDENTITY focus rather than an OUTCOME focus. “You do not rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems” We want to inspire and support you in spending less time focusing on the outcomes and more time focusing on the HABITS that precede the results.

Your ‘identity’ can either hold you back OR build you up.

Holding you back: “I’m not consistent with movement, I’m un-motivated, I don’t finish things I start, I am bad at…, I’ve never been able to…” Building you up: “I am always doing the best with what I know, aligned with my values (wellbeing) I enjoy movement as medicine, I finish what I start, I’m the type of person who…” What are you identifying with, what language are you using that might be holding you back?

Write it in your journal, and SWITCH the language, identify NOW with who you want to be THEN build the habits that reinforce your desired identity Prescription-practice: The more you talk about a problem, the more you anchor it in place. It’s impossible to create any new future when you are rooted in your past. You have to clear away the “weeds” of the old self, BEFORE you can cultivate a NEW SELF by planting the seeds of new thoughts, behaviours and emotions that CREATE A NEW LIFE.

So… If you knew ANY outcome was possible, WHAT would you choose? If we are open to everything and attached to nothing, there is NO PERSON and NO THING that can take control or decide how we feel, unless we give them permission. Prescription-practice: In the mirror: If you make a mistake: Say “I love you anyway” If something wonderful happens: Say “Thank you” Observe with gentleness: What’s the first thing you say to yourself in the morning when you wake up, and the second, third etc. Our thoughts and words create our reality.

Mantra for your focus on:

Watch your thoughts, they become your words.

Watch your words, they become your actions,

Watch your actions, they become our habits.

Watch your habits, they become your character.
