We've brought together a collective of diverse, delicious and dedicated growers and makers to bring to you the best of what the BOP has to offer!

Our vision is to close the gap between growers/makers & consumers, to provide an alternative to supermarkets, prioritise ethical and local. We see this as a place to gather and connect with the community with a focus on not only sustainability but regeneration.

This is a place of COMMUNITY and SOCIAL CONNECTIVITY. Regular live music, face painting, plus we have a dedicated playground for the kids to play on while you sample what's on offer. So good!

Abundant Backyard is an acre market garden that provides certified organic produce to the community and local businesses. It promotes organic and nature-friendly farming systems and practices that are energy efficient, climate friendly and oriented towards the conservation of the environment. It also promotes awareness to sustainable farming. All planting, cultivating and harvesting is done with hand tools. There is no use of big machinery on the farm. Abundant Backyard has the purpose of producing organic food accessible to all people. We believe that these foods improve the functioning of our organism, prevent diseases and help to take care of the health of the planet and those who consume. Vegetables, microgreens and herbs from the producer straight to your table! All healthy and fresh.

Nicolás Pagani, aka El Jefe, has been making his sausages since 2016 when based in Wellington.
Nico creates all types of delicious sausage from his inspiration and custom made for both retail and wholesale customers.
He is also well-known for his dry-cured maple bacon.
El Jefe Meats only uses local, good quality ingredients and aims for the purest most honest products without nasties.

Our inspiration comes from the use of traditional recipes and methods that date back centuries. We make single farm of origin cheese, with our milk produced on a local farm from a small half-Jersey herd. We are proud to say that we have pushed the boundaries and brought raw milk cheesemaking back to New Zealand.

Better Bread is all about quality. They’re a small team of wāhine passionate about quality baked goods. Championing certified sustainable or organic ingredients where possible. Known for their naturally fermented sourdough that is suitable for the whole family. Better Bread will also be providing sweet treats and of course their scones. Come to the Redefined Farmers market to meet the team. They’re always happy to answer any of your sourdough questions.

It is a group of people wanting to bring light to the world of fungi and help people realise their critical role in nature. Along with buying your nutrient dense delicious oyster mushrooms and other beauties as the seasons allow you will be able to get your fungal froth on to talk about how fungi can help reshape the world for the better. Small Batch is an artisan food company based in Mount Maunganui. Small Batch was started in 2012 by the talented foodie family Nick and Elaine Delaney. As a fellow chef with similar passions Nick Parker became friends with Nick D and in 2020 took over the company and set up a new kitchen to operate from. 

Nick has a life-long career as a foodie. Successful chef, food management, 10 years local organic bakery ownership and now proud owner of Small Batch Artisan Edibles. 

We love what we do and we hope you do too. We work in a kitchen not a factory. We run our business much like a good restaurant, quality ingredients, innovative techniques and attention to detail. 

Right now we make a range of Peanut and Nut Butters and spreads but watch this space because we still stay up late trying different products to add to our range!

Unrefined Cakery is your place to go for nutritious and delicious functional food baking mixes. Our mixes are easy for the busy person to whip up (just add water and oil!), and are refined sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, nut free, and vegan. All our products are packaged in home compostable packaging as part of our bid to care for the environment
